Sketch
DJ Sketch stormed onto the deejaying club circuit in 2004 by winning the
official Miller Time sponsored So You Wanna Be A DJ competition. This
enabled him to gain a club residency and he has not looked back since
rapidly becoming one of Scotland’s most recognised and busiest urban music
djs.
Still only 21 Dj Sketch has always had an ear for good music regardless of
the genre and his early influences range from Supercat to KRS 1 to Oasis to
Armand Van Helden. His passion for music has seen his deejaying career go
from strength to strength earning him the title of Scotland’s Youngest in
Charge. This is evident by the fact that in less than 2 years DJ Sketch has
gone from being a skilled bedroom dj to holding down 4 dj residencies at
Glasgow’s premier urban music clubs. Each and every Saturday he plays to
the biggest urban music crowd in Scotland.
In the past 2 years he has deejayed for some of the biggest artists in urban music namely Public Enemy, Pharrell Williams, Mobb Deep, G Unit, and LDotMan amongst others. DJ Sketch has also earnt the right to play alongside internationally established djs such as Whoo Kid, Scratch Perverts, Semtex, Trevor Nelson, Shortee Blitz, Tim Westwood to name a few.
Currently DJ Sketch is regarded by many within the deejaying circuit and by the clubbing industry as one of the most talented and hardest working djs in the country. In that short time he has also managed to release several critically acclaimed mix cds setting the standard for other established djs in Scotland to follow. DJ Sketch is again upping the ante by getting ready to release his debut album later this year showcasing his highly developed and unique deejaying skills, and just as importantly his love and knowledge of music which goes well beyond his years. He is also busy in the studio developing and working with local artists and will soon be releasing a highly anticipated mix cd by UK hip hop and grime artist Tha Creepsta aka Skolz.
